Floating Baths

Headline

Have you heard of floating baths?  Well let me tell you, you must know about this.  I was first introduced to floating baths right after the pandemic, when we could barely see anyone, do anything other than lonely activities with yourself.  I decided to book a floating bath session at Ovarium Spa in Montreal.  It was AMAZING and that's an understatement.

At first, I walk into this beautiful building on St-Denis, where I'm greeted by this kind lady who asks me a few questions and shows me where the washrooms and waiting area are.  After my name is called, I'm shown to my own private spa area.  It's a room where I find a shower, a counter area to put my things and lastly a huge thing that looks like an egg!!  That my friends is the floating bath where you experience pure relaxation!  The therapist then explains to you how the experience will go: first you go in the epsom salt bath where you find 3 buttons to the right of the tub, one for the light inside the covered bath, one for the outside lignts and the last one is for your selection of music; you can select spa music, classical, nature sounds or complete silence.  You can also call for help in case you feel the need.  You then you live the most peaceful 60 or 120 minutes of your life.  I mean you basically submerge yourself in body temperature water that is saturated with Epsom salt that even if you try you just can't sink; you float effortlessly in pure darkness (in my case), where you're free of all outside noise, where you just surrender and let everything go.  You simply feel weightless, free and it allows you to go into a deep relaxation state.  When the gentle music comes on, it's your cue to come back to reality, get out of the bath and take a wonderful hot shower.  When you leave, you feel such peacefulness and serenity.  It's like nothing I've ever experienced.  Do yourself a favor and book a session.  Thank me later!  FYI this isn't an ad
